May be water retention - do you get your 8 glasses a day?

Ore possibly you are under eating so your body is storing weight?

Don't worry it will come off!

and more believe me. there are so many factors that effect what the scale reads, water retention, wast retention, fluid distribution, even how you stand on the scale. it is not uncommon to see fluctuations of five pounds, in the same day.

Well said, sometimes people forget that food weighs something, especially when you add water.

Can't beat some good fibre foods to get it moving through!!! Plums and beetroot are great for that - not necessarily at the same time, but whatever "floats your boat"

That is not uncommon - and why MFP recommends weighing yourself only once per week.

If your sodium intake was higher than normal, your body will retain extra fluid to keep the sodium at a proper dilution. This may take a couple of days to get rid of, because, even though it is necessary for the proper function of the body, sodium is a poison and has to be kept at a proper dilution until it is excreted.

Also, as mentioned, the bowels can hold several pounds of waste. If you have not gone to the can in a couple of days, then that may also add to the problem. Same if you have been eating mostly low- (or no-) fiber items. Eating sufficient fiber is essential for keeping the waste moving through your system quickly - and not letting it sit and fester in your bowels.
