Hangover plus exercise equals... what?

This morning I'm nursing a rather fine hangover. Went out with work last night, up the London Eye, which is brilliant by the way, especially as they served us wine on board. So I had 3 glasses - 2 white an a red.

Then off for dinner at Las Iguanas on the South Bank, where along with some food I also had a Long Island Iced Tea and some weird cocktail with passion fruit and lime - very nice and very alcoholic.

Then the old and boring people went home  and the rest of us stayed out drinking at some pub along the Thames somewhere, where I think I had a G&T and 2 or 3 pints of this IPA called Jaipur.

Then I stumbed back to the tube and home. Didn't drink any water before bed either.

Anyway - clearly this morning I don't feel all that great... but since I've heard that booze inhibits weightloss as your body puts everything else on hold as it tries desperately to ditch all the alcohol, I think I should still probably try and work out.

My question is: if you start on a stepper machine or similar when hungover and feeling a little bit pukey, will it a) sort you out, or b) make you chunder? Should I just leave it til I feel better, or will all those alcohol calories have been stored as fat by then? Is it already too late seeing as it's now been nearly 12 hours since my last drink?

Any ideas my loves?

:drinker:

You could give it a try and if you start feeling too bad just stop. It may help you feel a little better. Just take it a little easy. =)
  • Hehe good use of the word "chunder" !!

I shared a bottle of vodka with my bro last night, and when i came to put it on my stats, it equalled 750 cals!!!! D'oh! So, i jumped on the exercise bike this morning, 30 mins, 550 cals burnt. Feeling a bit better now

Note to self, burn more BEFORE going on a session, as i really had to break through the pain barrier. :embarassed:

    Lesson learnt though!

I think you should try to give your body some recovery trough food and healthy nutrition and lots of water and skip the exercise today, at least until you REALLY feel well. Love your body, dont make it feel even worse, haha...

I see little point in attempting to do cardio on a COMPLETELY dehydrated body, but it's up to you.

Your alcohol calories are absorbed by now either way.
