I started using MFP about a month ago and I love the support that I am getting from my friends! I am known to talk myself out of dieting just because eating whatever I want is so much easier. So far I've been sticking to my diet and feeling great :) I just need some more friends to support me along this journey that will be the hardest thing I've ever had to do....

It is a struggle. I eat a lot of whole foods and I've always loved veggies, salads and such but I still in a sense eat what I want. If I fill up on lean protein, fruits and veggies I can usually squeeze in things I want but don't need. Just working on portions, moderation and stuff like that.

Read the success stories a lot it has been motivational for me if I'm feeling like the lazies are coming on with exercise it just takes a few success before and after photos and I'm up and working out. Or tightening up on the nutritional foods and measuring.
  • It is important to lose weight, but that cannot be your ultimate goal. Eventually when you hit your target a year or two from now you will need something else to motivate you. Make sure you make several mini goals along the way. Every 10lbs go look in the mirror. Measure your waist in see it shrinking. Don't look in the mirror and simply see yourself. See your potential. Everyone has an amazing body just waiting to be revealed. Don't forget yours is waiting for you. Make sure you have some consistent method for tracking bodyfat percentage. Because that is the main stat to cut. For example. I am technically overweight, but my bodyfat percentage is in the fitness range.

Fitness, and health are like a bank. Remember when you make withdrawals that you simply need to counter it by making some deposits. Make sure you get enough protein, take your vitamins and always do the first 5 minutes of a workout and then decide if you are too tired to continue. If your workout program is getting boring checkout liveexercise.com. I have been working out there since August and the transformation is amazing.

I started out at 275---working toward 155---eating prepackaged meals 5 times a day plus one meal I prepare myself. Love it as it has been the secret to my success--eating often and watching those carbs.
