Do it! After weeks of debate and constant searching of opinions, I finally broke down and bought one. I spent quite a bit of money but I now feel it was worth every penny! I chose the polar ft7 for women and am so happy with my choice. I didn't think i'd see much of a difference in my workout with one but I was totally wrong. It actually motivates me to push hard through my entire workout and add extra things to keep my heartrate up. So if you were like me and debating whether to buy one or not, just do it. You will not regret it!

How did you decide on that model? I want one, but I have no clue what features I need or don't need.
  • I purchased the same model and it's awesome!!!

they are great that is for sure. I love knowing the accurate amount of calories. I used to only want 300 calories, but now it seems I like to go way over that. Glad your enjoying yours!~

The features it has and the great reviews it got. You can do so much with it and it keeps a log for you of how long you worked out, how many calories you burned, how long you were burning fat, and so much more. You can also buy a computer dock for it and it will upload all of your information onto its website (now my debate is if I want to buy that lol). And the chest strap it comes with is super comfortable.
  • I am definetely thinking about getting one. I'm a poor college student and don't want to drop 100. Anyone know if I could get one in the 50 dollar range that tells me how many calories I've burned? I heard the circuit training is kind of accurate for the P90x but it would be really nice to see exactly how many calories I am burning!

I agree. I searched for a while too...and decided on the Polar FT60....a little pricey...but so worth it. Polar seems to get a lot of great reviews.
It makes tracking everything soooo much easier.

AGREE! I bought the same model a few weeks ago - and it has really been worth every penny. (Well, the men's version since I have big hands...smaller watches always look odd on me....)

I am now able to make sure I keep my heart rate in the proper "zone" for the activity / result I am looking for (sometimes a challenge when I am go for slow and steady 'fat burning' workouts as opposed to full on 'cardio' sessions).

And when I do at home workouts, shoveling snow like a banshee or going to a walk up and down the hilly streets in my neighborhood, I know exactly what I am burning. Also, it has made me realize that the "awesome" calorie burned numbers I was getting from the gym machines were about 100 - 150 calories off (that's a lot of accumulated 'exercise calories' I've eaten over the last four months!)

So - yes - it is worth every penny indeed!

I have the same one and was also able to get a free FlowLink through a promotion at my gym. I would not have paid for a FlowLink but I like being able to upload my workout data to the Polar site.

I've only had the FT7 for a few weeks but I'm already feeling like I would like to get the FT60. Maybe next year ...
  • Polar makes phenomenal equipment! I have the F11 and I love it! It's like having a personal trainer telling me when to ease up and when to kick it into high gear. It also helps me accurately report my home workouts instead of guesstimating!

I just bought the Polar FT7 today also :) Haven't tried it out yet, but judging by the amount of calories I've gone over today, I'm getting ready to head down to the treadmill. Sadly have to stop my 30 day shred until my neck heals.

Ouch, I hurt my neck doing the 30 day shred too. Sucked very badly and I wasn't able to do anything too intense for about a week. Hope you heal up quickly
