Super sprints and flexibility

Hi folks.
I've recently quit long runs in the morning so that I can concentrate on getting flexible and also gain a little muscle while I'm at it (Brilliant really as the two don't interfere with each other).
I was wondering if doing just a one or two mile fast sprint in the morning would affect my flexibility? I'm struggling to start the day without a little exercise.
I'd appreciate your thoughts and tips.
Many thanks!
