Bike Shopping Suggestions

I've decided to reward myself with a new bike and was wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions? I love my old Nishiki mountain bike, but it's way past retirement. I mostly ride on pavement and worn trails and would like to spend less than a few hundred dollars. Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

Try going to bike shops in your area and see if they have any of last years models in stock. I saved about 50% off my last bike doing that.0

I agree with BryanAir. We went to a well-reputed shop in our area and got 50% off our Trek hybrids. We LOVE those bikes, by the way. Trek is a good brand, and a hybrid is great for people like us who will do a lot of riding on the pavement, but would like to take their bike to the beach or on a dirt path occasionally. No dirt paths full of rocks or anything, though. The tires aren't meant for that!
Have a great time bike shopping and enjoy your new bike.0
