Making caloire counting mistakes?

It seems that I have been under my calorie intake for a few days, and eat JUST to reach the recommended calorie intake. I am usually not hungry and eat something healthy (fruit or veggie) to reach the goal. Maybe I am counting calories incorrectly? Does anyone add extra calories on to their meals to make sure they counted enough?

Also, I am new on here and would appreciate any new friends or advice!

  • Hey, and also welcome!

If you are under your calorie count a lot and you are logging food as acurately as you can then maybe you are just eating the amount it says. Some days I find myself under by 200 or so and do the same as you and eat something just to make up the difference, but other days I struggle to stay within my calorie count.
I do find that when logging my food intake that some of the foods on the database are not as accurate as they could be, in which case, like you said, I may double the quantity of the food so that I know I have definitely counted all the calories. You could also try adding your own foods to the database if you know the calories in what you are eating.

Weigh and measure everything you eat. Get yourself a food scale if you don't have one. It's a pain and it takes twice as long to cook a meal but it's worth it to be accurate.
Just please don't undereat. It's the biggest problem on this site. Make sure you reach your goals every day. Under is bad. you already have a deficit built in, there is no need to create a larger one.:flowerforyou:

If you would make your diary viewable I would be happy to check it out for you.
