How come strength training doesnt burn calories?????

It does!! You just need to log it as a 'Cardiovascular' exercise under 'Strength Training', and then MFP will give you a calorie defecit for it.0

Strength training absolutely burns calories. I think that it varies so much from intensity to level of weights that it's hard to measure. Each person is different. The only way to measure it accurately is with a HRM0

It does burn some additional calories but not a significant amount. In order to burn more calories than what you would normally by just staying alive (run the brain, keep you heart moving etc..) you have to increase your heart rate. Resistance training really doesn't increase your heart rate. It will in very short burst but not much more. If you want you can run in place between sets, do super sets, drop sets etc which will increase your heart rate over a period of time. Having said that, dont give up on it, adding lean muscle 1. shapes you body and 2, muscle burns more calories than fat. Hope that helps0
