I went to add the stairmaster to my cardio excercise journal just now and was shocked to see that it didn't come up as an option. My questions are, why isn't it on there and how many calories do you burn when using a stairmaster?

Thanks!

I think the stairmaster is just like an elliptical right? I would think that the calories would be close and elliptical is an option.

    That's what I use. :ohwell:
  • If you haven't already, you should get a heart rate monitor. This is the best accurate way to determine how many calories you are burning. Before I got my heart rate monitor, I relied on gym equipment to tell me how many calories I was burning. For me, they were way off.

Did you find that they were telling you higher or lower than what MFP says?

according to my HRM, MFP database gives me a lower calorie count most of the time than what my HRM says I burn
