Hi there,

I wanted to try something fun and new - something that I could do with my significant other that would still keep me on track with my calorie count.

This worked out so well that I thought I would share it with you!

You can find all the info you need on this recipe including nutritional information here:

Let me know what you think!!

That is my go to crust when we are in a hurry. Pita works well as does Deli Flats.

Just had look but the bases are nothing like the pitta bread we get in the UK, ours are much smaller and more oval in shape, not sure of a suitable alternative.

I have made pita pizzas too. They are delicious! The only thing I don't like is the pitas have so much sodium in them. I have looked for lower sodium and haven't found any. I can find no fat, low carb...but no low sodium. I hope you have fun with them!

I'm not sure if you have them where you are but at agrocery store called safeway they have pitas there with the brand name Eating Right that are very low sodium!! Carbs arenottoo bad either and there is 6 to a package for about $4.

Not sure if that helps....if not I hope you can find something at your local health food store.

    Good luck :)

I love Pita and was really excited at this recipe but I haven't saw a pita looking like that ever - and we don't have safeway!

I just made these the other night with my family and some friends and we all LOVED them!! It was so nice being able to make our own individual pizzas because we all like different toppings. I'm definitely going to make these from now on! I usually just buy Lean Cuisine pizzas but this is lower in calories (with the toppings I like at least), and lower in sodium. Thanks again for sharing this recipe idea!!

Last week we did pita pizzas as a family. I told my 2 young boys that they HAD to pick 2 vegetables to put on their pizzas, spaghetti sauce did not count.

Choices: black olives, onions, green peppers, shredded zucchini.

They weren't happy but know that mom stresses veggie eating, so they complied. And they ate them. I only saw a few green peppers picked off of a pita pizza.
