The Impossible

So I've hit a hard spot in my weight loss program - I'm no longer losing, just staying the same. I've been doing good at keeping at or under my daily calorie intake but I do know that I've been going over a bit in the sodium and sugar department. My issue isn't so much with the sodium because I know what's kicking it up so much (I love corn dogs lol). The problem I'm having though is trying to stay under my daily sugar intake. I feel it is just imposible because even healthy foods have sugar. Is anyone else having/had this problem? If so, how did you overcome it? Am I overanalyzing the sugar issue? I just feel hopeless and really frustrated right now. :(

MFP includes sugar from all sources, even natural ones like fresh fruit. I mentally subtract the sugar from whatever fruit I eat, that makes the number more manageable.
  • if you're working out, you may be eating too little.

Your body gets used to the amount of calories and adjust accordingly.

sometimes adding 200-300 calories if you're working out is required otherwise, you're below your minimum and your body may go into starvation mode.

Let us know what your minimum is and if you're working out.

Ever seen any workout reality tv shows? Sometimes the people are working out and at 1200 calories and they hit a plateau. Sometimes adding in a couple hundred can make all the difference(if you're working out)

If you're not working out, then maybe start. And strenth training is important for both men and women. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn.

If you mean that when you eat fruits the sugar levels go up that's not necessarily a bad thing. The sugar content in fruit is different to that in food such as donuts and cakes. It is seen as a good sugar so as long as that is all it is i wouldn't worry about your itake of sugar.

I would however try to cut down on the sodium, it's in almost every packaged food and can even make you hungrier (even after finishing a bowl of crisps)

Why not increase your exercise or try something different, like a new class. To get myself motivated i usually buy a magazine or some new workout clothes (if i have the money) Good luck
