I am new to MFP this year, I have technically been on here for a couple of months but really didn't get the whole idea of it. Now that I have lost a total of 15 lbs this last 2 months I am super excited to use this. Except now is when I need the support. I am three months in I am kicking up my workouts but I do not see the results in the scale. Yes my clothes fit differently but I need to know some new things to try to kick the weight loss back into gear. I am trying to lose another 40 lbs. That's all because for me it is about the look in my clothes not the number on that scale....

Please help and send support. Or at least give me ideas of new things to try or even work out mixes. Thank you in advance

fantastic idea doing it with clothing, its so validating doing it that way. Kick training up a notch, you could always be like me and register for a duathlon or fun run event thats a wee while away and use that as further motivation to kick it up a notch! Give it a go and good luck with the rest of your journey

Try eating all your exercise calories if you aren't already.

Try working out far more, or a little less than normal to give your body a 'shock'.

Try a routine that is very different from your usual workout.

Try adding more grapefruits into your diet, I hear they enhance metabolism?

But one thing for sure, keep working at it. Keep going! You are doing awesome, you have already lost weight and won so much for yourself! You will reap the benefits of your hard work! Just keep going !!!!

One thing that keeps me encouraged is workout classes. I just signed up for 10 classes of Zumba, because it's so great working out in a group with other fitness-minded people!

It's about vision. See where you want to be and craft a plan to get there. I am not a schedule guy. I like to wing it. So, I plan to wing it. I tell myself I need to do X in a week and then start doing it. If I finish my exercise goals on tuesday so be it I get extra in if the spirit moves me. If it's sunday, it's sunday. Watch everything that passes your lips. count it all good or bad. Human nature is to bull$hit ones self, especially when others are watching. Be your own biggest critic. Drink a lot of water and...the single most important thing. DO NOT make this a diet. Make this a change in the way you think and act. Only then will you realize lasting results.

Like the others said... keep kicking it up. Try new things and see what you enjoy, and don't let the numbers on the scale deter you. It truly is a matter of how your clothes are fitting because as you work out you will be turning fat to muscle and muscle weighs more ;)

Make sure you are eating small meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism going and keep mixing up the workouts. Don't stick with the same one or your body gets used to it & you don't burn all the calories you should be. Are you doing any strength training? The more lean muscle you have the more calories you are able to eat. You've done great losing 15 lbs in 2 months so don't lose your drive now!! Feel free to add me if you need more friends. I tend to lose weight slowly so I am here for the long haul!!
  • Thank you Everybody!! You have given me some great tips!!! I will definitely try these and get myself down to the look I know I deserve!
