I used to be a runner. Perhaps I am still a runner just not sure yet!
I have always loved running. When I was young I was always into cross country running. When I was older, I ran my first half marathon in December 2008 and had huge plans to run many many more. Unfortunately, I tore my hamstring playing street hockey for charity in the fall of 2009. It was a bad tear and I couldn't walk for four months and then when I could finally hobble around, I didn't walk "normal" until probably fall 2010.
I miss running and so I want to join the Running Room to join one of their running groups. They start in a few weeks but I am not sure which level I should start at. They have "Learn to Run" 5K" and "10K".
I have not run since my injury and am wondering which running group I should join. When I called them to ask for their advice they said that my body should be able to just jump right back into running like riding a bike again....
I was wondering if anyone has began running again after an injury and how it was for them or perhaps someone may have some advice as to which group I should join.
Thanks!

Honestly, if you want to train the muscles surrounding your injury so that you could ultimately feel confident running, I would start all over like you've never ran in your life... Also, you need to get good expensive running tights or capris to help keep your muscles fresh and aligned....
I have fibromyalgia and my legs have taken a lot of that pain. My hips, knees, and ankles are supremely weak.... And I never thought running was in the stars for me, but I run at least probably 2 of my 4.5 miles a day now.
WAaaaaaay worth it if you love your body!!!!!!!0
