I have a BodyMedia FIT, which is now the exact same thing as a bodybugg. They look EXACTLY alike, just have a different brand name on it. I love it, but I hate the subscription price just to use it.
If you can shell out for the bluetooth model and have bluetooth on your computer it might be worth it if you can wirelessly transmit the data w/out taking it off your arm. Not sure if you can or not, or if it just lets you link to your iphone.
I got mine on ebay for $100 shipped and it came with the display watch which I use to see what my burn the previous day was so I don't have to log on and upload my strap daily. Or I check it in the afternoon to see if I am on track or if I should eat more or less for dinner based on my burn so far.
I find it to be very accurate from what i can tell, and they claim less than 10% discrepancy, which is pretty good, we're talking 100-150 calories, which I know I am off just on my logging estimations anyway!
I love the sleep tracking function too. I wake up all the time and this shows me how often. oddly though, the other day it logged me as sleeping for 45 minutes when I happen to know I was sitting at my desk... was i really reclined and that relaxed?! eek, don't tell my boss! It seems pretty accurate on the sleep stuff from what I can tell too.0 -
That is so funny... sleeping on the job. Perhaps you were doing something very creative and went into beta wave mode.0

That is funny about the sleeping on the job - mind hasn't shown that yet. I also have the BodyMedia and have been using it for a week. I have the bluetooth model but so far the bt part doesn't really work which is really frustrating. I have been able to sync it a few times but it is such a hassle. I mostly just upload it about 3 times a day to the computer. I love the information it gives me - it is really interesting to see when my calorie burn spikes up and how many steps I am taking. I also sleep better than i thought! Close to 90% efficiency on average.
The calorie burn it reports during exercise is way lower than what I was getting with my HRM. But I burn way more calories overall in a day than I thought.
Personally I would get the cheapest one rather than the bluetooth because they have not perfected the technology with it yet and it is not working very well yet.0 -
Whatever you do, DON'T search Google Images for 'body bug'. Not fun LOL0
