Just be smart about it. Have some filling, protein packed food, and you'll be through it before you know it.

I'm so sorry for your loss. *hugs*

I'm not too sure whether you should start consuming your normal calories again. I'd be interested to hear what others have to say.

    Take care

    Sorry for your loss :(

Your body goes into starvation mode after weeks of not getting it proper nutrition a couple days of not eating correctly won't hurt u....Keep up your normal routine, just do a start over...If u feel hungry eat more protein and drink more water and u will be back on track in no time, i am in the same boat after having the flu ect....Do your exercises and your normal eating routine following MFP and u will be back on track in no time Good luck and don't worry u r not starving yourself...That takes weeks to happen
  • I'm sorry for your loss. ::hugs:: Serious things like these can do a number on th "normalcy" of eating. I would just start up with what was recommended to you through MFP. I wouldn't eat less calories to make up for those other days, because you don't want to dip under the minimum of 1200 calories a day. I wouldn't beat yourself up about those days either. Wipe the slate clean and start fresh. You sound like me- an emotional eater. One thing I do love to turn to when my world has been rocked the wrong way are long walks. They help clear your head, put things into perspective and elevate your mood. Instead of heading for the kitchen, I would put my sneakers on and walk away whatever's gnawing at me. Everything else will fall into place. And remember that we're all here when you need us. :flowerforyou:

I'm sorry for your loss! Don't feel guilty about your over eating, you've found out first hand now what happens when you hit starvation mode, so its not your fault and feeling guilty can also have us reaching for the fridge! Your body is not only telling you to eat more, but to eat foods high in fats too. Surround yourself with the basics, fruit, veg, salad, rice, sweet potato, oats and cous cous to bulk out your meals. Eggs, chicken, white fish, yoghurt and milk to help you feel fuller for longer. Homemade soup will make you feel full for longer (and less salt than tinned). Homemade milkshakes made with fruit, oat and milk will fill you up and give you a sweet fix. Also keep dried berries and seeds near by. Drink lots of water.

Your body will get the message and balance out. Perhaps, increase your calories and gradually decrease it over two weeks? Or, have 6 small meals instead of 3 large meals with lots of snacks in between, you'll soon start to feel stuffed!!

I hope this helps you and goodluck. x

First of all, I am very sorry about your Uncle. I know this is not the time that you want to be thinking about what your eating. I am glad your not completly throwing your diet out the window though. If I were you I would try to eat alot of whole raw foods. Lots of veggies and fruit. Plus add in as much protein as you can so you stay fuller longer. Eat small meals or healthy snacks throughout the day so you dont get so hungry you are willing to eat anything. (we have all been there!~!) Soup is a good, filling thing to eat. Also, try to stay acive. Doing some sort of physical activity is a better way for your body to deal with stress than sleeping or spending the day on the couch.

please messege me if you need someone to talk to. Good luck with everything. Im praying for you and your family.

I tend to agree with lynzyn:

Once you're able to, go back to eating healthy foods to get your suggested number of calories. As long as you get back on the wagon, this should only be a blip in the road!

    *hugs*

I am truly sorry for your loss!!!
Just do what you can right now-you need to heal mentally as well as get back on track here-so give yourself the time you need to heal properly. As for your eating-just do what you can, try for the high fiber and high protein foods, and that will help. Get some veggies to snack on! You will get back in the routine! Just focus on taking care of yourself-and don't let this just be one more stressor. Good Luck!!!!
