Drinking away your calories!!

i used to be on 2 or 3 cokes per day. and sometimes add a cappacino to that mix as well.
i have now reduced myself to only 1 coke per day and if i do have coffee i will have it with skinny milk.
but even if i do fall off the wagon,i will definitely put it in the tracker.0 -
I've probably had a grand total of 8-10 non-water or brewed iced tea beverages over the course of the last year, and every single one of them was logged in my diary. But I didn't make that change when i joined MFP. I've mostly only drank water and the very occasional brewed iced tea for about three years now, maybe longer.
My only diversion from that is the very, very rare RC Cola. Mmmmm...RC Cola... lol
But I hate coffee, I hate diet soda almost as much as I hate coffee and I only ever drank alcohol of any kind for about eight months of my life back about 10 years ago.
So yeah, just water. And I even log when I have the brewed iced tea, just because some brands do note a few calories sometimes, so I want to make sure they're accounted for.0 -
Before starting MFP I had a can of soda in my hand almost all day. I've been addicted since I was a pre-teen. So I now have one a day, sometimes two if I have some extra calories left over & I'm not hungry. I log them. Seeing the "150" - "170" depending on what I have is what keeps me from having more! If I cut it out completely I'd have a really hard time. But I'm very pleased with myself cutting it from 5+ per day to 1! Otherwise it's all water. Maybe a black coffee or tea here & there....But 99% of what I drink is water.0

Water and tea (iced or hot) for me. Though I have to admit with the latest articles I am reading I thinking I am going to give up Splenda in my tea too. Maybe even go decaf on my tea :-)
I quit drinking diet pepsi when I started MFP, it took a few days but I do not have the craving for a diet pepsi anymore. I crave water or milk more than anything else. Oh and I do log the milk calories, they can add up fast.0 -
Most days I only drink water and coffee without milk or sugar, so I don't log the coffee since its only like 2 calories per mug. But when I do drink something like a fruit smoothie I always log it.
I used to drink a couple of beers like 3 nights a week just out of boredom and to treat myself but once I started MFP and realised how many calories are in alcohol I gave them up. Now I only ever drink if I'm out at a pub or something.
Mind you, its gonna be weird when I get to my goal and start maintaining. I won't know what to do with all the extra calories.0 -
I drink 3 cups of coffe in the morning and log it,thats all i drink besides water and mabey a diet everyother day or so.

But isnt the whole point of this site is to be reminded by others of things we may be forgetting to do, to receive advice from others on things that we can do to improve our weight loss and achieve our goals??? Isnt the best way and only way to lose weight is to be completely honest with ourselves?? I was asking the QUESTION of how many people actually think about what they are drinking thats all. No need to get panties in a bunch...I wasn't accusing anyone of anything I was merely asking if people think about it thats all.0

I drink coffee, water and diet Mountain Dew. I know the diet Dew is bad for me, but I drink it anyway. Maybe someday I will be willing to give it up, but not THIS day!0

I am amazed at how many calories drinks can add. I drink water and tea (no calories). If drink coffee I add that in because it is 2 calories per cup + any additives I may use.0

I don't worry about coffee. I drink mine black and it's 2 calories for every 8oz. Other than coffee I only drink water. I would rather eat my calories. Much, much more satisfying that way.0

I count it all. I drink 128 oz of water daily & sometimes 8 oz of grapefruit juice & 8 oz of a juice that has no added sugar. I need the extra calories. I can't consume all my calories by food alone on days when I burn a lot of calories.0

I pretty much only drink water, coffee and tea. I log the coffee because of the creamer, but my tea tends to be herbal and caffeine free so it gets added into my water intake.
Anything extra (ie. red wine and beer :drinker: ) gets logged.0 -
Coffee in my diary each and every morning, rest of the day I only drink water and one green tea for my night time drink! Very occassionally (sat/sun pm) will have a bacardi and ginger ale or any other drink is certainly input into my diary. Doing this for me, so if I cheat, I'm only cheating myself! :bigsmile:0

I totally agree with you. I just started a week ago and was suprised by how much my "drinks" were costing me!
Friday night out with friends: 3 glasses of wine: 780 cals.
Sunday: Bloody Mary x 1 without the beer chaser: 200cals
This really sucks for my social life!!! LOLOL
I do include all my drinks, including my fat free milk and coffee. I feel I'm just cheating myself if I dont.
PS: I have not had one Diet Pepsi since I started

I drink tea, coffee and water during the day, and no, I don't log that. or herbal teas - green teas, chamomile, pu-erh tea. If I have calories to eat I have a glass of wine and that gets logged....0

anything that i driink that isnt 0 cal gets logged ........ you're only cheating yourself by not tracking stuff0

How did you lose all of that weight? How long did it take you? I have a sweet tooth, and love snacks!!0

If I eat it or drink it, it goes in my diary!!!
.....doesn't matter if it hasn't got any calories..I still put it in there.
I do drink water and unsweetened tea and coffe etc and juices occasionally to make up my calorie total if I need to.
I don't understand the logic of NOT adding your drinks...everything adds up right?!!0 -
If you want to 'remind' people, just say what you mean. Don't post this paragraph saying how you're so surprised looking and diaries and seeing things not logged, because that just makes no sense. If it's not logged, then you really have no idea what was not consumed unless the person told you. Don't try to put it back on people who call you out on it, either. Own your posts.0

I never used to,but when I started logging teas/coffees I was amazed to find that they were clocking up as much as 200 per day ! Ive started drinkiing more green tea to try and stop, but at least they are counted now :bigsmile:0

I log everything....water, tea, diet drinks, etc......because you can drink your calories away.....that is how I hold myself accountable...by logging everything that I eat and DRINK! and yes I did have two glasses of red wine this weekend...

OMG!!! LMAO!!! Some of you responding are blowing this whole thing out of proportion...never did I accuse anyone of anything and again I merely asked how many people really pay attention to the drinks and how many really log them lmao!!! My diary IS NOT hidden its open to the friends and support I have on my friend list and YES I DO ACCEPT ANY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM AND ADVISE ANYONE ON MY LIST GIVES ME lol WOW I am completely blown away to some of your responses...have a great day everybody!!0

OK. As long as you are happy with that double standard ("Only my friends can see *MY* diary, but I'm free to comment on *EVERYBODY'S* diaries, whether they are my friends or not), then there is no way you will understand what everybody else here is trying to tell you.0
