I have lost over half the weight I came here to loose, about 70 lbs so far. I can wear smaller clothes and get compliments on loosing weight and I even feel the energy from it and I can tell 100 percent that I lost the weight... but I have a problem.
Tonight I was looking in the mirror because even though I lost the weight I can't tell that much and I figure it is because I look at myself every day... so I look in the mirror and I am disguited by what I see.
Let me tell you a little background about my body first. I have bit hip bones and a large butt, I'm not overexaggerating, it's true and I'm not ashamed it's just a fact. My hips are even with my belly button and they curve down making my waist line right at my belly button.
I'm not sure what started it but being overweight for as long as I can remember I always wore my pants right at my belly button line and I see the effect that had on my body today... maybe it wasn't the pants.. it's just how I'm built but my body is confusing.
I look like a snowman.. I have boobs, a tummy above my belly button which is getting considerably smaller and I can see the difference even a little bit, and then I have a big bulky flap overhanging under my belly button.
My hips are at LEAST 2+ inches farther out than my tummy and my overhang is out about as much as my tummy is when it's laying down flat... but when I pick it up and push it out to see how far out it goes instead of just hanging there it is at least 3 inches larger than my tummy. With my wasit drawing a literal line across my body (it caves in around my belly button, giving me a two part tummy look) the large flap looks disguisting!
I am trying to describe this as best as I can because I am to embaressed to take a picture of it... with clothes on I look almost normal since the flap hangs down and not out.. but when I'm naked it's there and it's gross. I want to be able to be normal some day and wear a normal bathing suit instead of hiding under shorts...
My husband listened to me tonight and comforted me.. he said it's been going down some... but even he admits it's larger than normal... so I'm not overexaggerating.
I want my stomach to be flat like everyone else, but mostly I want my overhang part to even out.. and I don't know what to do about it. I am worried it won't go away even when I finish loosing all my weight! It might be a silly concern but it's there.
Has anyone else been in my position? I don't know what to call my stomach type.. I don't exactly go around asking ppl if they have a 2 part stomach, lol. What can I do to loose weight in this particular part of my body? My husband suggested crunches but I didn't see any result from them and gave up after a few months.. maybe I should try again...
I am really saddened by this tonight and need advice desperately... can anyone help me?
(And sorry if I had any typo's or sentences that don't make sense.. I hate proofreading.. guess that's what I didn't do so great in English, lol.)
EDIT: To say I never have had children.. if that makes a difference.

I am not shaped as you are, but I totally know how you mean, as described. I feel the same way, I feel OK with clothes on, and I can tell a small difference, but, same as you, I look and feel disgusted with myself. This weight loss crap is hard work, and I am getting burned out fast by it all, but we all need to remember WHY we joined this site. Please feel free to add me..I am always looking for more support, and to BE supportive to others. Very best of luck to you, and keep your head up..We just have to remember our goals (as mush as working hard for them suck)0

Stop beating yourself up. You're taking the right steps and you may not see the results you want to right now. You have a long way to go, but youve come so far. Self hatred will defeat the purpose. Keep doing what you're doing. You won't know how you'll look after the next half of your goal is over till you get there.
And my tummy isn't flat like everyone else's. I'm 40. Chances are, ill never see a flat tummy. I don't like that my hips kinda square up on the sides, but you know...I'm better than I was 42 pounds ago and that's ok with me. I don't like cruches either.0 -
Thank you for your replies so far... I know I posted late so I am bumping this hoping to find someone going through/ been through what I have.0

I'm sure we have all gone through that phase where we look in the mirror and scream "I hate you" or "you look horrible". It's nothing new to anyone. I did it when I was your age. I went through that phase again in my 30's. You're on the right track by being here. Cut yourself some slack and concentrate on the progress you've made.0
