How many days will you be camping? Can you insure that any meat will stay cold (ie chicken) I was thinking you can BBQ chicken, I also take salad because it comes in a bag and is easy to store. I normally cook my food at home and store it in the color besides the meat so I can enjoy more of the trip instead of cooking all the time. Breakfast egg whites, yogurt etc (again if you can insure your food will stay cold) granola bars (watch out for the sugary ones). I like to take celery and watermelon since they have a lot of water in them to help me stay hydrated along with water. Hamburgers made with turkey meat on whole wheat buns.0

Make sure you take lean meat and watch out for sausages, most are quite fatty. If you can find patties and sausages from Peppercorn Food Company (Woolies stocks them I think. I know Farmer Jacks in Subiaco does) they have some really tasty lean options. You could also try BBQ mushrooms (the big field ones) or other vegies (maybe as kebabs?). Also, if you're going to indulge in a beverage or two, white wine usually has fewer calories than beer.
Where abouts are you camping?0 -
When I go camping (and I go camping lots) I usually bring a selection of fruit and yogurt! We usually only bring a BBQ and a small stove, so meat-wise I'll bring a few steak burgers (our local supermarket do gorgeous home made ones), some chicken fillets and some little steaks, which we have with a nice salad. I'll always bring some bread rolls for everyone else...
I always bring my cereal too, so that I ensure I have something healthy for breakfast... everyone else has sausage baps!
Also, make sure you bring plenty of water
Before I go camping I always make sure I have everything, so that I avoid the need to go to the shop to get any bits and pieces I may have missed...
Oh I can't wait for the warmer weather so that I can go camping again :happy:0
