Hi, I've been lurking on the chat boards for a couple weeks and have finally decided to post a 'hello' in the hopes of finding some friends. I'm looking to lose 10-15 lbs, which may not sound like a lot to some, but I'm in the skinny-fat category and have very little muscle tone, strength, or endurance. I dropped 3 lbs my first week of calorie counting and haven't lost a single ounce since then (in fact, I gained a little back) and I'm frustrated. I know, patience is a virtue...
I'm looking for friends for mutual support and encouragement regardless of your weight loss goals, so if you're reading this and want to be friends, I will accept! :flowerforyou:

Welcome, with only a little weight to lose you should make sure you are set at a 1lb/week loss at the most, I would recommend 0.5 lb/week. The closer you get to your goal weight the smaller your caloric deficit should be, to ensure you don't lose muscle as you lose fat. If you don't already you should start lifting weights, and don't be afraid of going as heavy as you can, you will not bulk up. Good luck0

Thank you for the welcome messages! And the advice about trying to lose the weight. I'm currently set at a .5 lb/wk goal but that just feels so crazy-slow to me! Patience, patience, patience... :bigsmile:0
