Well, apparantly I have hit my first real plateau!! I haven't lost a thing the last two weeks!! I know logic states I should be losing SOMETHING!! I mean, I am eating low calories and exercising....soooo what gives? Why does the body do this?? I know I should be happy that I lost 90 lbs before this really happened and I am!! But sheesh! I was hoping to lose a few more before my vacation next week. *SIGH!!*
I have been retaining water a lot though. My hands are very bloated and my rings don't go on well...it's been like that a lot lately. Does anyone else get this way during the Summer??
I have had a maintain for a week but then lost again the next week and I have had smaller losses...but this is the first time it's just been at a standstill this long. It's taken me like 2 months to lose 10 lbs!!! When before I was losing like 8 to 10 lbs a month!

I know the bloated thing well. In Summer (warm weather) my hands, legs and feet swell pretty badly. It hard to know wether to increase the water or decrease the water or just wait it out. And in cold weather my hands shrink and my rings are falling off. It's annoying :grumble: but its very comon for my body. :flowerforyou:0

Don't really know what to tell you Tam. You are doing this so long, you know probably better than anybody else all the answers.

Well, you are getting so tiny that you don't have the 8-10 pounds to loose so quickly girlie!!! Ya know the drill...Drink tons of water, and guess what, maybe this is going to be more of an "inches lost" week! YA!!! That's it!!! YEY!!!

You've done such a fantastic job..but I know it must be frustrating not to see the scale move at all
I've been doing well also (with a little slip up before dd's surgery) and posted yesterday about my 1.5 GAIN
I thought it might be a fluke..so I jumped on the scale again this am...MISTAKE...up another pound!
I'm back on track and sticking with my plan and not getting on the scale for at least another week
Maybe you did loose something but adding some muscle?
Or like you said...maybe it's water weight/retention..summer?
Also, the less weight you have to loose the more stubborn it is...
Keep up the good work..you look awesome!

Been going through the same thing alllll month :grumble: I lose one week gain the next I'm still at the same as where I started at the beginning of the month, yet, I'm doing better than ever on my healthy eating with in my calories and exercising more than ever. It stinks....BUT you have done an awesome job and now that most of the fat is gone it's gonna get tougher. I read Banks's post about the last 10lbs and he said it could take up to like 6 months or something like that...:grumble: :grumble: :grumble: You're probably gaining muscle so that's a good thing. You've been an inspiration for all of us. You look amazing, you have such a great attitude, you're very supportive, and ummmm, yeah did I tell ya you look great? :happy: Try not to get down about it and keep up the good work...:drinker: :drinker: Oh! And your family's gonna be in total awe when they see you. 90lbs is a HUGE accomplishment!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:0

Summertime is horrible for me with swelling hands, feet, calves. Especially sitting at a computer 8 hours a day. I have the same problem with my rings.
You'll continue to lose. It has taken your fat cells 90 lb to realize what's going on (they're not that swift), so now they're fighting back. But your strong will and perseverance will prevail. They already know they can't win as is evidenced by the disappearance of their friends, but they have to make that last stand. :mad: Let them have their 30 seconds (or in this case two weeks) of glory. They can't hold on forever. You're stronger than they'll ever be.

Thanks all! I know the body does this sometimes..but I still have a good amount of weight to lose to get to my goal, so I am not at the last 10 lbs yet. I don't know. Maybe my body just needed a break and is protesting any change right now. I mean, it has gone through quite a change in the past 10 months!
My BMR is about 1580. I am currently 180 lbs. (I know SOME of that is muscle because of working out and I LOOK better, but I still have weight to lose).
On days I don't work out, I eat 1400 cals. (I don't want to lower it right to 1200 because I want room to lower it bit by bit to get to my goal weight of 135 but I actually have lowered it from 1450 to 1400 this pat week, hoping it would help but it didn't!!
On days I do work out, I eat 1750-1800. The elliptical says I burn 850, but I lower the number to 750 to be safe....So with eating 1800 and burning 750 on those days, my net calories is 1050.
I drink a lot of water and I work out on Tues, Thurs, Sat and Sun...and I have been doing a lot more outside with my son and getting extra activity in. But, my rings have been SO tight the last few weeks. That could very well be it! It's just hard! From September to Feburary, I was losing anywhere from 2-4 lbs a week (average was 3!)....and then I slowed to an average of 1 or 2....so it's just tough to suddenly stop.0 -
Yeah that is tough. Just keep at it. And your body has been through a huge change. All you can do is keep fightin it. We're here for ya...:flowerforyou:0
