Whoops that was meant to say weening not weeing hahaha

I have been weening daughter Lexi off her bottle and right now its at her grandmas. She just saw her pic as my display with her bottle so she said "My bottle, please mom get my bottle" and pointed at the pic. So I said "your bottle is at grandmas" she pointed again and said "my bottle!" then I told her "I cant get that bottle" and she was a little upset hahaha I found it funny how she thought I could get it out of the picture

Out of the mouth of babes and out of their minds as well.
I remember doing this with my daughter Erin. My Mom found a sippy cup with the picture of a Disney Princess on it. And called it HER CUP! and made a big deal out of it. We had a Princess ceramonie and everything. Complete with a crown. She took that cup with her EVERYWHERE for a time after that, but never LOOKED at her dull bottle again.

Kids are beautiful. and say the cutest things. My daugther was only 18 months when my son was born, so we had to do a lot of "big girl" transitioning and fast (didn't want two cribs, different sets of bottles, etc). So we actually made everything a party. Party for her "big girl" bed. Party for her "big girl" sippy cups. That way, when he was using all her stuff, she didn't seem to miss it because she was "big girl" now. It was alot of fun. We even had a "pee pee in the potty party". Now 6 and 7, they still will talk about it.

    Enjoy these wonderful years!!!
  • My son was easy to break of his bottle once I got my mil out of town for 3 days. She was living with us at the time, and I was trying to break him of his bottle. I stopped the milk and gave him only water in it. For some reason we couldn't break him still ..... then I caught mil. I'd leave the room and she'd add sugar to his water  So when she went out of town for 3 days and he discovered he was gonna get NO sugar from mom he threw the bottle away himself and reached for his cup. Grrrr MILS :grumble:

Yeah we had Lexi one year and 2 days after Roman so we got him into a bed and off bottles quick. He was fine with it. Once in a while he would steal Lexi's bottle and hid is in his room drinking it. haha

Lexi only gets water in her bottle and she doesnt care as long as she has her bottle! hahaha I just keep it at grandmas that way she cant have it. Its hard at times listening to her cry for her bottle. It would have been nice at 6:00am this morn :grumble: But it will be worth it in the end I guess hahaha
