I'm thinking of buying a new HRM today - my one has finally given up the ghost and is not registering heart rate properly - my polar which I think is an F7 or something like that is outdated now and need a new one, from having my one I only really need it to register all my deatils ie height weight etc and tell me how many calories I burn - that's all I really use it for ... any recommendations?

walmart has one that looks like a watch i love it, i think it is s7 lol. it is around 30 dollars.

I'd stick with a Polar. I put almost the same question up on my status the other day, and almost everyone suggested the Polar's. The models were the FT40 and the one you already had.

I have the Polar FT7 which is the latest model of the F7. It's great

I have the Polar FT7 too and I love it! Really easy to use, and tells me everything I need to know :-)
