The Numbers Game...

So I am finally ok with it! The number is not as important anymore. And that is because of my training. I have only been in training for a week but I have run in 7 days I have run 3 and half hours and 16 miles. I am proud of myself. BUT the scale is telling me I have gained 3 pounds. I am going to hope that is muscle and try not to obesse about the scale until after the half marathon is over.
Any runners out there have any insight on this? Am I just in fooling myself? My clothes still fit fine and I don't feel like I am gainging weight!

Jenn, I have the same issue...strangely enough when my running distance has increased. I believe that the muscles hold onto water to help repair/recover. Just my thought...0

You are not just fooling yourself. Go by how your clothes fit. When you run your half marathon, no one will know or care what your weight on the scale is. I, for one, will be watching you in awe. :happy: :flowerforyou: I think it's a good idea to avoid the scale for a while. That thing can be evil. :devil: :laugh:0

So the last two days I have not been running. I lost almost 4 pounds. THE scale is away till the half marathon (well I am cutting back to once a week for my biggest loser contest) I am back to knowing that I feel great! I am wearing a size four pants today and I can breathe!
SO I weight more than i did a month ago. I also am more tone than I have been in 10 years! GO ME!0
