Depends on how hard-core you want to be. You can do 2 pounds a week and conceivably reach your goal by May, but you may hit a plateau and have to kick it up a notch near your goal. I started at 185 last June and it took me about 6 months to lose 30 pounds, but it is definitely coming off much slower now...but I also don't work out as hard as I did over the summer. So, really it's all up to you!0

By the way...my ticker and stats don't reflect my first 5 pounds!0

since you don't have much weight to lose, you should set your goal on MFP to a maximum of 1lb/week, once you get to your last 5-10 lbs you should change your goal to 0.5lbs/week. So if May is 10 weeks away you should be able to lose 10lbs in a healthy manner by then and maybe another 4 by the end of May.0

2lbs/week is too fast if she only has 20lbs to lose, at that rate she would probably lose as much muscle as she would fat. I would strongly suggest 1lb/week.0 -
aim to lose 4lbs a month...0

Well it looks like there is about 12 weeks from now to the week of my birthday in May so I will put my goal at 138 by May 17th that's kind of exciting.0
