So, I'm working with those lovely female hormones for the first time in almost 1.5 yrs (since my son's birth) and boy are my emotions all over the place. Yesterday I stayed within range on all my nutritional stuff (thanks too 1400 cals worth of exercise early in the day) but not all the very best choices. Today I'm still within range (barely) but I've made the dumbest, hormone-based, comfort food-craving move and picked away at the better part of a stunning, fresh focaccia warm from this morning's farmer's market. Of course now I'm feeling sluggish, tired and hungry. Anyone have any kind words to encourage me for tomorrow?? (I can be very hard on myself) and any good tips for a nutritional boost that won't load me up with more grains??

Thanks folks... you guys are the greatest that I can allow myself to feel so vulnerable here. When it comes to this stuff I used to not even be able to talk to my husband! :ohwell:

Don't beat yourself up over some bread Minnie! You had it, and it was really good, and now tomorrow's another day! I wouldn't go near that Farmer's Market though if I were you! LOL.
Whenever I'm extra hungry, I grab a Fiber One bar, or some pop corn. Alot of people recommend eating some nuts, so you might try that. I stay away from them though, cuz they're so addicting, I end up eating WAY too many!

Its just one day! Tomorrow is new! Start over! Just get right back up!! Thats the most important thing! We are human, temptation will always arise and will always be there, we are bound to trip once in a while. Just dont let it stop you from reaching your goals!! You CAN do it

Thanks so much. Why is it that we can give advice but cannot take it ourselves?! (I've posted many times about a new day, fresh start... different when it's ME though I guess :embarassed: )

It's a fab market. I'll just have to go AFTER the first hour when all of the warm-from-the-oven italian bakery products are sold. It takes about 10 minutes after he unloads his van lol

Thank you again. And please keep the food ideas coming... it's going to be slim pickins for dinner tonight!

LOL, WOW 666 calories?!!! I sure hope it was worth it! LOL.
I could do without bread if I had to, but icecream is my downfall! I'm soooooo glad I discovered Edy's no sugar added, slow churned cookie dough!!! It's soooooooooo good!

    Hi Minnie....

I LIVE in Italy and those markets are all over the dang place. I have one right across the street from where I work and can smell all the fresh bread every morning. I have to say though, every time I go grocery shopping, I DO stop at my favorite and get a Focaccia covered with cheese and veges (the only place I can find that specific one). It is SO good. So don't feel so bad....they are hard to resist!

Here's to focaccia :drinker: and avoiding it in the future! But not today, because it is my grocery shopping day at lunch time.

    HAHA..It's evil focaccia bread!!

And, like all things evil, sounds really really good!! Mmm, warm focaccia bread topped with parmesan and garlic and oregano, drizzled with olive oil...Oh, man...so much temptation! No mere mortal could have resisted, don't beat yourself up over it. Your next meal is more important than your last meal, don't sweat it.
