My culprit is dinner time!!!

I realize that my culprit is dinner time!!! This is a time where my family comes together after a long day and eat, share and enjoy one another presence. I don't like to eat different food from my family but it seems that to discipline and keep my portions low I need a pre-prepared meal, like soup or frozen dinner. Whenever I cook for my family or even order out if never goes as I plan it to go. Does anyone have any suggestions?
