thank goodness for tax money..we are going to go buy HRMs tonight after the hubby gets home
i do so much walking and stuff daily, but cannot log it in, because it is random and sporadic, i just cant seem to keep up with minutes, etc..i know the best ones are most likely expensive, but anyone bought one from walmart or kmart ?? how well do they work, if so..we are looking at one that has all the things i am looking for in a HRM, but i want everyone elses opinions and thoughts as well, so i can buy the best one for my budget ( which is about $50-$60 )

whichever one you get, make sure it has a chest strap!0

Only buy one that has a chest strap, the wrist only ones are not accurate, and therefore not worth the money.0

YESSS!!!! I got one without one and it was such a pain to stop every like 5 min to read my HR. I have a Polar FT4 I got on-line but it was $79.99. Target has some good ones too I hear.0 -
I just bought a MIO Pink HRM from MC Sports on clearance for $40.00. I think it has just about everything, excluding a chest strap. I think it is a good one for being the first one I have ever had. You can enter your age, weight, set resting HR, shows calories burned and you can also enter calories consumed if you want, has time, date, stop watch, etc. Not bad for the price. I checked its HR reading against a manual reading and it was spot on.0

Yes, get one with a chest strap and that calculates calories burned.
Sports Authority has the Polar FT4 on sale for $79. I just bought it Monday and I LOVE IT!
I burned 364 cals on the Arc machine, the machine told me 415!
Good to know a true reading!0 -
so far, you all have the same advice..i will DEFINITELY keep that in mind..i just didn't happen to notice if any of them had chest straps or not, but i will for sure look..thank you all so far !!0

I just bought a Suunto M4. not sure if they are available outside of Europe, but it's freaking amazing like a trainer/Hrm all in one.0

I have a Polar F6. I love it. I never workout without it. I use it mainly for swimming. Check out Amazon.com; I got mine there for about $80.00. HRM's are a definite must-have to get accurate burn readings. While I love MFP, the burn readings are always more than what I actually burn, so I always manually enter calories burned when inputting my exercise.0
