I am sure this has been asked a million times before.....

I just got a HRM. It says during my walk i burned 222 calories. Is this what you would record in your exercise log or do you subtract out your normal calories burn from just resting for the same time period?

Thanks!

I always just put the calories from my HRM in to the excerices section as is. I think that's what everyone does. :blushing: Too much math to figure out what your resting calories would be for that amount of time and deduct them.

I walked 1.3 miles in 18 minutes. I was just trying out new monitor with a quick power walk.

I asked because it seemed high and still does check this web if you can go out to the web and check some sites .... I love numbers and my HRM but you need to see if the agree or are on ave with the really world. I have a timex that is way off if I used its numbers and than eat all the exercise calories I would be gaining weight. So just make sure the manufactores formula the close to everyone else and than add it in as exercise and eats some of it back.
