it's a stupid question, and I feel like an idiot for asking
Ok, so it's been 20 yrs since I wore a watch, and back then, I could go to the jewelry counter on base and get a battery changed. . .tried the walmart counter, nope, they won't do it, where else can I get the battery changed?
Frustrated, ordered it on line and it came with what i'm assuming is a dead battery(yeah, I dropped the company a note about that).

When I worked at Zales we would do it for the cost of the battery. What does the back look like, I may be able to tell you how to do it yourself and save the extra $$0
