Ugh! Frustrated with self

Every day feels like a struggle. I am trying to live on my "diet" minute by minute. I do well but every two or three days, I go off on a binge without seeing it coming. I even try to keep my house completely free of "temptations" to keep myself safe.
I have a picnic to go to 2nite in which I am in charge of bringing dessert. I whipped up a batch of cookies last night. I only ate a few (more than I should have) but this morning, when I was getting ready for work, I have LOTS of them. Now, I just feel sick and fat and frustrated and dissappoint and (.....). Ugh!
Thanks for listening.

You've got to develop that will power that is in you to do this!
Next time you need to bring dessert, make something healthy. Then if you splurge, it won't be so bad.
There's a great post Banks did on willpower but I can't find it!
Anyone else have a link to it?0 -
I agree! Next time you're assigned to bring a dessert...think Jell-O or something with fewer calories. even a something with fruit in it. It doesn't have to be cookies or something that will tempt you. It's not easy. And the important thing is that you don't deny yourself anything. Just moderate! You'll get there, sweetie! ((HUGS))

We all have those moments of weaknesses. Keep sharing with us and sometimes seeing in writing where we make our mistakes - and also where we have our successes - can help us all keep things in perspective. So, keep up the good work. You're on the start to something great. And post your successes too so we can celebrate those two or three days when you're doing really good. Maybe if you can see what made you do good on those days, it will help you go on to the next day. (Works for me, but I'm a visual person).
Carry a water bottle with you tonight at the picnic, and enjoy your time with friends/family. Have a great one!0 -
A great recipe that happens to be weight watchers and is very easy to make is pie! You could even make mroe than one. All it takes is 2 yogurts (fat free), cool whip (fat free), and fat free sugar free jell-o. Bring 1/4 cup of water to a boil, add the Jell-o. Pour into a dish and add the yogurts and cool whip (8 oz.) and pour it all into a grahm cracker crust. Sometimes I add strawberries or raspberries depending on what kind I am makeing. Other than that, I suggest the diet coke cake...much better for you than using the eggs and oil when baking a cake. All you use is the cake mix and then add a can of any diet pop. It seems more moist to me and no one even notices that you only used to ingredients. Hope this helps you in the future! Trust me, I have had those days too, but now when I do it and eat half a pie I don't feel as guilty because I know that it is better for me than the really bad stuff:)0

Thanks for all the advice and encouragement. When I binge, I also try to "make-up" for it by not eaing all day. I know that is the WRONG way to go.
Thanks for the recipes too!0 -
Oh, cookies, how sweet you are....
I know what you mean with binging days . I ate 4 very large white chocolate cookies last night, after pizza. I don't think my intestines will ever be the same.
But hey, today is a brand new day! I've found that the less I beat myself up over it, the less it happens. Plus, if you really want a sweet treat, with minimal calories, try smoothies. I've been trying to switch to those lately.0 -
On another post someone was talking about office temptations and their suggestion was to imagine that whatever's tempting you has been coughed on or sneezed on or something. Try it! Mind over matter! And good luck!:flowerforyou:0
