Hi everyone,
I had my breakfast & lunch and buned off 413 calories in exercise which now leaves me with 1172 calories left to eat today, is it ok to eat a mcdonals for tea as long as I stay within my calories or will this affect my diet?:sad:

    The fat, sodium, and carbs that you will consume at McDonalds will be terribly high! Skip it and splurge on something good, like a smoothie or healthy meal at a non-fast food restaurant.

    Don't sabotage your effort by eating at McD's!

    Well...if you are going to keep thinking about it, you can always eat it today and get it out of your system...However I will tell you, if you have not eaten it for a while, you may be sorry! Last time I gave in and had McDonalds I felt sick for hours.....that may be mental, or the fat seeping through my pours...but I felt sick none the less!

    I find McDonald's and a lot of fast food places to be addictive (what do they put in that stuff?). Once I get even a little taste of it, I end up craving it and I hate having to fight cravings because I usually never win. McDonald's won't kill you (at least not today), but I agree with shorerider. Is there anything else that might taste yummy in your tummy? Go for something that will not only satisfy you for the interim, but will also make you feel good tomorrow too.

    I do understand where your all coming from but what i'm trying to understand is if I stay within all my targerts ie cals fats carbs protein after ive eaten it will this affect my diet?

    Well I think they're talking about all the salt in McDonald's foods. You're just looking at the cals, carbs, fats and proteins, and not the report section where you'd see the sodium and everything else.
    I CAN tell you though that in my case anyway, I've had a double cheeseburger several times over the 10 weeks I've been on this site, and I'm still steadily losing every week. What I do is bring my own baked chips and flavored water, or a diet soda. Maybe you could do something like that.

    It is about the long run.

    I find it helpful to go the the companies web site and check out the nutrition info. I did this the other day after chose to have a fried chicken snacker for 330 calories. This was a 1 oz strip of fried chicken, sprinkle of cheddar cheese, sprinkle of lettuce and a flour tortilla. Some protien, but otherwise no nutritional value. And guess what, I was still hungry!

    NOW think about what I could have had for 330 calories!

    I consider McDonnalds in the same light as I would...say... chocolate cake. It's ok if you do it as a treat once every few weeks or month, but don't make a habit of it. The fat is all saturated, the carbs are all simple, the beef is full of hormones, and everything that was once good in it, has been cooked, heated, and nuked beyond any possible nutritional value. I wouldn't even consider it a meal, more like a pre-dessert, dessert. If you eat it, I would also drink a V8 and eat a piece of whole wheat bread as well, because that will at least give you some fiber and force your stomach to take longer to digest the simple carbs.

    Kids meals are great! Just enough.... add some fresh veggies and fruit and you have a ok meal. Everyone needs 2 cheat once in a while

    I agree with some of the others in that if you just really want McD's, then do it every now and again. Just be wise about the choices you make there.

    It's been nearly two months since I had fries or anything like that from a fast food restaurant, and the other night, my daughter had fries from McD's. I ate three. I wish I hadn't. They tasted awful. So greasy. I seriously thought they weren't going to stay down. I don't think I'll be doing that again.

    LOL--funny but true!

    Used to work at McD's--ugh! The grease that comes out of those burgers! :sick:
