Am I really supposed to drink all that water?

Okay, so since September I have worked from about 3 am until all odd hours during the day, then volunteered 50 hours a month teaching the bible, then taken care of kids and all that good stuff, only to get to bed by about 11 each night. Oh yeah, after having my gallbladder removed. So I gained a solid 10 lb. Not the kind that come and go, but the type that stayed and made me jump up and down like 10 times just to squeeze them over my slowly expanding thighs (anyone else have a pair like that? - my kids think the dance is funny). Sorry, I digress. Anyway, I have tried herbal supplements and caffeine to try and make myself more alert because hey, I'M TIRED.

Well, this week, I found that I have been drinking like 12-15 glasses of water a day. And I haven't been tired. On Wednesday night, after working my eight hours, going to the gym, preparing with my daughter for a part she had at a bible meeting that night, then going to that meeting for two hours, then dinner with the family afterwards and getting home at midnight, I realized I made it through the whole day and didn't even fade once. Who knew drinking a copious amount of water would actually be a natural high? Well, okay, all the nutritionists and doctors knew. And probably most of you. I surely didn't. My husband even commented on how fresh and glowing my skin looks, not all dried out.

So, :drinker: cheers everyone. Drink up. I'm living testimony that drinking water actually does NOT kill you, and WILL make you stronger.

Have a great day!

I had Lap Band surgery May 29th, and the one thing they drilled into my head (besides chewchewchew) was to be sure I got a miminum of 8 glasses of water a day in. I've done really well in doing that over the last four weeks except for one or two days, maybe.

But on those one or two days when I didn't take in enough water, I could tell the difference! I felt icky, sluggish and tired. So now, if I don't do anything else, I make sure to get at LEAST my 8 glasses, but most days it's more like 10.

Yes I agree. I used to say that I really did not like water. Now I can not get enough of it.
