I recently moved downtown and no longer have a car. It has been wonderful on one hand because I live TWO blocks away from the twice a week farmer's market! The downside is, there are about 20 really good take out places within a mile's radius, and groceries are so annoying to bring home! But I've already started to feel weight gain even though I thought I was eating sensibly for maintaining.

But on the bright side, about a 20 minute walk away is Whole Foods! I shopped there for the first time today. Some prices are about the same as the overpriced Safeway's around here (that run the city). Other prices are just crazy.

Whole Foods shoppers! What delicious foods do you get there that are tasty / reasonable calories / not so expensive?
I also need to stock up on good snacks and meals to take with me to work.

Their bulk section is great as far as budgets go. I've only bought quinoa from it so far, but its way cheaper than buying it in a package. I avoid their meats, i once bought waay overprices chicken breasts. But vegetables aren't bad at all, and you can find different things like varieties of mushrooms instead of the plain white ones. Good luck!
