Just wondering how different your typical daily menu is now that you are here???
A typical day (I'll use today as an example) for me now is:
Porridge for breafast
Fruit snack mid morning
Grilled chicken breast with salad and a mini wholemeal pitta bread for lunch
Yoghurt for snack
x2 childrens breaded chicken breast, 60g spaghetti with one tea spoon of pesto and stir-fried pepper, onion and courgette for dinner..
With my exercise cals I still have 200 cals to play with!!
Prior to signing up here my typical day would be:
Shop bought sandwich for breakfast
Shop bought pasta salad for lunch with a packet of crisps
unweighed portion of pasta, bolognese sauce (aprox 250g of mince meat), garlic bread, lots of grated cheese for dinner.
A few cookies or jaffa cakes as an evening snack
A few glasses of wine.
I cannot believe how much I used to eat??? And I cannot believe how much I can still eat now just by making good choices, swapping a few things around and controlling my portions....

My menu hasn't changed that much since starting MFP just left out all the 'junk' I used to eat in between and portion sizes have dropped drastically. I have not changed my food other than that though.0

well...as my weight went up, my I.Q. apparently dropped, and I just lost my mind when it came to nutrition. I was over a week into MFP before I began to view it properly. I was never and still am not eating enough. There was no way on earth I was going to reach my goals. I was starving. Had no clue. I honestly thought I was eating properly. All the fruits, veggies, whole foods, organic, blah, blah, blah and never nearly enough. I love the energy and appearance of an athletic body and worked most of my life to be able to enjoy just that. Well....when I started panicking over a few pounds and started doing all the wrong things, I got bigger than I thought possible for me. I have always known that you have to eat and eat enough. I used to be a personal trainer and that was my number one rule for clients - be sure to eat enough! And until I logged on to MFP, I was miscalculating everything.
So "yes", I certainly eat differently. I am so so grateful for mfp. I actually begin to shrink so quickly that is seemed unbelieveable. I can't even imagine how little I must have been eating in the last two years. It is scary.
If anyone looks at my food diary just now, well I've had a sinus infection and have not been eating, but I did drop my activity level also trying to compensate until my nutrients/calories are back up.0 -
The foods I eat are pretty much the same, just the amounts have been changed. I still eat chocolate, ice cream and "bad" stuff, but in far smaller portions. One thing I tried and loved after learning about here is almond milk.0
