Hey everyone
I'm getting a little nervous for my up-coming vacation:glasses: . My fiance, his mom, and I are leaving for about a week this coming Saturday. We are going to spend time with my fiance's family. I'm really nervous that I won't be able to stay within my calories, or get enough exercise! :ohwell: I'm not even sure I'll be able to weigh in!! I'm so scare; I don't want to blow all my hard work in just one week :noway:
Any thoughts, tips, advice, suggestions......???

don't worry so much. just keep up with what you eat and remember your portion size. you'll do just fine. I hope you have fun.0

Its all about self control. Try and eat the same portion sizes and at the same time as you have been doing. try to limit your alochol intake and im sure youll get plenty of exercise in with walking around to see the sites.
It might do your body good to have a little break then you will feel fresh and relaxed to get back onto your routine when you return!
Besides if your going somewhere where its hot and sunny your less likely to over eat anyway. And drink loads of water )0 -
Is there any way to take a laptop with you? I've taken them on vacation before for various reasons, and maybe you could keep track at the end of each day?
If not, then I would just remember that a giant helping of broccoli is way less calories than one tiny piece of pizza (that's what i tell myself all the time). If you just try to eat lots of vegetables and fruit throughout the day and drink lots of water, then it's easier to have a nice dinner because all those fruits and veggies left plenty of room for more calories without going over your goal.
Drink lots and lots of water too, especially if you're vacationing anywhere warm. You'll need it to keep hydrated anyway, but sometimes we eat because we feel thirsty and all we needed was a glass of water and we would have felt more full.
Oh, and try to do something active every day, even if it's just a walk every evening. That way if you ate a little too much the exercise will help balance it out for you.
Hope that helps a little! I'm sure you'll be just fine. Just stay focused on what you really want to feel like.0 -
Well, it is VACATION, so enjoy yourself! You don't need to pig out at every meal, but you also should enjoy yourself as much as possible, including at the dinner table! Not sure what type of vacation it is, but if it's a different city or a resort town, explore on foot as much as possible! Any additional exercise you can get should help offset some of the additional food.
Personally, I would NOT weigh in. I don't believe in day-to-day weigh-in's anyways because I think it takes a rolling average of at least a few days to accurately reflect effects from food and exercise. I only weigh in once a week anyways, so I would just weigh in before you leave and not again until you get back home. If you didn't lose any, or even gained a pound or two, don't beat yourself up. Just get right back on track when you get home, recommitted to your healthy lifestyle, and know that you enjoyed yourself during your off week as you should once in awhile!0 -
Relax! Just remember your portion sizes and certainly STAY ACTIVE~! I've actually lost weight over vacations because we kept super busy:) Go for walk/jogs every night and do lots of activity during the day, that way you shouldn't need to worry too much about What you're eating. Just keep in mind the portions of what you're eating! Have fun and good luck!!!0

I think the part I am mostly worried about is the home-cookin' my fiance's grandparents will be doing. I'm a sucker for their cooking!! hahaha
I am getting so excited to go to Florida, it will be my first time
Thanks again guys. Keep it coming!! It's really helping!! :flowerforyou:0
