I just got this monitor yesterday, but so far i think it is crap......

Sitting at my desk at work, i ran it for an hour,

Avergae HR = 78 (probably true)
Calories burned 272! if this was true in my 8.5 hours at work i would burn 2312.

Anyone else have expieriece with these monitors and find them to be high?

I think i will be returning it today!

Yup! I just bought one because my Polar is going out.. I had in on ina class this moring.. Before workingout my HR was 110-120 and during class got up to 165... It said in that class I burned 1045 calories..... ok my polar that I trust says 400-500 and I have done that class twice and it is not high impact cardio!!

Thats good to know i am not the only one!

    Thanks!
  • HRM don't give an accurate calorie count at rest. They are not meant to be worn all day to get a daily calorie count at rest. They work best during cardiovascular exercise. I have read they are not even accurate for weight training. If you want an all day calorie burn, you need a bodybugg or body media.

I did a 28 min very fast walk (2.0 miles in 28 minutes) my average HR was 141 and the monitor said i burned 328.

    MFP says 251 calories......

30 Day shred this am said i burned 305 calories.....

    Do these seem reasonable?
