I got weight loss surgery in January, I've lost 35 lbs already. But then I went back to work. I'm a chef
Free pop, or any other drink you might crave, Free foods of choice! specially desserts
I managed to stop grazing for a bit.
I even managed to say no to pop, Cept I started to really crave it so I tried to drink a bit of orange juice. only 2 glasses allowed in a day. But it made me really Sick in the end.
But now as I'm working and theres left over sitting on the grill, I find I tend to Munch on them a bit.
I've been working here for 5 years and ive always grazed. I just dont know how to kick the habit. I do manage to say No to Fries most of the time. I'll eat the left over protein(chicken and steak) or the ceaser salad... Sometimes i do give in to the desserts that are very often passed around. it's not like I'm eating alot. bite here or there. But still I dont want to spend my days munching. I seem to do it without thinking, it just seems to be programed into my head
I can't chew gum cause it gives me a headache, and I tried tic tacs but i found i kept chewing them...

That's a tough one. Working in a kitchen all day!! Can you keep fresh veggies cut up and handly so you can reach for those instead of the left overs?

I never thought of keeping a carrot of something beside me so i can munch a carrot instead of a chunk of steak,
Im not supposed to snack at all During the day, But I do cause other wise i would only consume 500 cal in a day which is really low

Wow, I envy you for working in a kitchen, I love good food. I worked in one for a couple of years and I understand how easy it is to just pick something up that's leftover. But just as you got in the habit of doing that, you can break the habit and not do it. Alternatively you can just log everything you eat and that might convince you one way or the other to stop doing it or just to make the right decisions. Spreading the calories out through the day isn't a bad thing. Good luck with that challenge.

I've always been curious about weight loss surgery. Is that something that your doctor recommended or did you pursue it yourself? Does insurance cover any of it? I hope I'm not getting too personal?!
