Why is it when I PMS my tummy is like a bottomless pit? 30 min. after I eat my blood sugar seems to drop and i get super hungrey and shakey! Why is this? My meals are balanced (pleanty of protien) but its almost like I am starving myslef. This happens every month one week befor my period!

I hear ya!!!!! I wish I had a solution, but it seems only chocolate works for me!0

Protein won't raise your blood sugar, so if you are having issues with that, try eating more complex carbs instead. They'll keep it higher, and consistent for a longer period of time.0

I have read that we burn more cals during our TOM, but I don't know how many. You might try eating more high protien snacks to help keep you full during TOM or maybe add some more fiber. Honey gives you a natural energy boost and may help with the shakey, works for me when I'm running on low. Good luck.0

ive battled with low blood sugar since high school and OJ seems to help me, only about 4-6oz. or eat some food. that way you are taking in a more nature sugar and not a sugary man made food. if that makes sense0

Well, I have been eating a mix of protien and complex carbs (Tempeh, Sprouted grain bread, etc.) but I am so afraid of over doing it on the carbs...0 -

Yeah, I have found that man made crappy sugar makes me feel worse! I will try juice as well =]0 -
Think of it this way: if you eat more carbs before you get shakey, you can choose the carbs you eat, and make sure they're good ones. If you wait till it drops, you'll probably (if you're like me) guzzle a bunch of juice and anything else in sight to get it back up, and you'll prob end up overdoing it on bad carbs instead of good. I figure preventing a problem is always better than fixing it once it occurs.0
