celery?

Is it true that celery pretty much has negative calories? i heard this is because its takes more effort for your body to digest it than its caloric content... i know this question sounds silly, i was just curious if this is true.

eww, i hate celery, raw that is...ill eat it cooked into something. even if its still negative calories i still wont eat it!

Yep. It's true. Same with ice water. Your body burns calories heating the water up... but there aren't any calories in water!

I find celery to taste soapy these days. Anyone know of any other "free" foods on which one might mindlessly munch?

Yep. True about the celery and the ice water. Here is a list of fruits and veggies from http://caloriecount.about.com/list-negative-calorie-foods-ft22. You can pretty much just Google negative calorie foods and you'll get tons of hits. If you don't like celery, maybe you'll find something else on the list that you like. ^_^ Good luck!

I remember my high school biology teacher saying that. The act of chewing burns all the calories and then some, I think... I love celery!
