Procastinating My NY Resolution =P

Hello everyone!
My story: my weight has yo-yo'd over the past few years. I was my heaviest in college, something like 250 pounds I think. =/ I got bronchitis and pneumonia my senior year and dropped 20 pounds over one semester. It made me realize I WAS capable of dropping weight. After I graduated, I lost some more weight. I was able to maintain pretty well after I started dating my boyfriend. We separated Fall of 09 for a few months, and I got down to my smallest since before college: 210. I actually carry my weight pretty well. I'm 5'10, curvy in the right places and have a very small waist for my size, about 3 sizes smaller than my hips. So even though I wanted to lose more, that was the first time in YEARS that I've started feeling more confident in my body and had fun shopping for clothes - I was down to a regular Large in tops and a 16 pants. When we got back together, I got comfortable, but still managed to keep in the 210-212 range. Over the past winter, job stress, family problems, etc. started making me stress eat and I got back up to 228, which is where I was at when I decided to buckle down on Monday and start calorie tracking and actually lose weight this time.
I have my college roommate's wedding this September, summer plans I'd like to look great for, and my boyfriend and I are planning on getting engaged this year. So I want to look and feel great. For right now, my goal is 160, which is the recommended weight for my height. Once I hit that, I'll determine whether I want to lose more or not. So far, I've had a few goof-ups the first couple days of calorie tracking this week, but Wednesday and today have been right on track and came in right under my 1280 limit.
Anyway, hello, nice to meet everyone and I've enjoyed lurking around the boards this week, gathering ideas and inspiration!
(Edited because apparently the student loan check I send in every month for my English minor is worthless, haha.)

Good for you!!! I also have been on here a week or so. It's so hard to stay focused.
Add me if you want!
Maybe we can help each other stay focused!!0 -

Thank you, I did!
My biggest problem will be the weekends. I live an hour from my boyfriend and family, and spend every weekend there. I can manage to track calories and be pretty healthy by myself during the week when it's just me. My bf is very unhealthy though - he eats cheeseburgers with a side of more cheeseburger. Luckily, he loves me cooking for him, but it will be a struggle to find a balance of fixing healthy food that he will eat or at last healthier takes on our favorites.0 -
Well, since he likes you cooking hopefully you can help him out a bit too. My boyfriend is VERY supportive and while we have our days that we eat what we shouldn't (like last night) we overall eat pretty well. I need to work on cutting sweets!!!! That is my BIG downfall. I also need to be more dedicated to the gym.

Yea, I'm getting better at the calories, just need to add in an exercise program!
And thankfully, my boyfriend has gotten the hang of the calorie thing as this weekend has progressed. He's helped keep me accountable and was checking calories of the snacks in his cabinet for me. I fixed steak and roasted carrots last night for dinner, with a side of steak fries for him, but he gamely took a serving of the carrots to "try" and then was actually raving about them the rest of the night! Hey
Hopefully I will be getting better soon and you can work out with me on the weekend if you want!0
