Meh, I think #3 on the eHow is kinda bogus. I have a 30 inch waist and wear a size 6 jean (and they're getting loose). There's no standard one size fits all, unfortunately, everyone is built differently. So 32 inch waist on one person might be a size 16, while a 32 inch waist on someone else might be a 6. It's best to just go to the store and try on clothes (it's fun to do anyway!)

My bum is far bigger than my waist so no jeans fit me correctly :frown:. I'm hoping this site and community will help my journey to get fit, and when I'm fit, my bum and waist will be in 'correct' proportion and I'll be able to wear jeans the right way!

Try them all on, and only buy the ones that make you say, "DAMN! These look great!"

Sizing is ridiculously inconsistent, even in the same brand and style.
