Well a chapter in my life ended.... I'm no longer a Cub Scout Den Leader.
Today, was the Blue & Gold Awards Ceremony -- my Den crossed over to Boy Scouts.

To my great surprise, I wasn't emotional with my "speech." Every time I went over the speech in my head, or out loud in the care (alone) I would tear up. Dave and I were astonished by the generousity from the parents of my Den and our Cub Scout Pack. Gift cards, flowers, thank you cards. We did not realize the impact we had on these families or on the townships Scouting program.

I had a small bowl of cereal before the 8am kickboxing class - then had the awards ceremony lunch (salad, roll, chicken parm, roasted veggies and dessert. Dessert was ice cream & a slice of cake. Ladies, I feel full still -- 8 hours later.

I recall eating my lunch - - of course I'm eating last because I'm tallying up the scores for the cake bake off contest. All the judges gave me the score cards & I'm determining the winners during lunch. So I ate my food.. had ice cream... ate a slice of someone's winning cake. I'm thinking I inhaled my lunch at the end ot the meal period right before the ceremonies.

After the event, I drop my son at a friend's house, drop my daughter off at another friends house. Once home, I changed clothes, read for a short bit then fell asleep. Based on what Dave told me, I slept for several hours. When I woke up it was 8pm.

Last night I did have a binge episode after I logged in my food. Wasn't hungry -- just frustrated over ex issues.
My food of choice was slightly frozen tastykake koffee kake crumb cream filled cakes. Let's not say how many I had.

Barb....congratulations on such a rewarding achievement. I have seen some of your photos from activities you had with your scouts...impressive! no doubt lessons learned, experiences, etc will have positive, life long effects on those boys. i am very happy and proud of you.

dh worked all weekend. pretty quiet here w/ds. having regular bouts of nausea, dizziness....pain isn't too bad. still using ice and pain meds about every 4-6 hrs. dr scoped 5 areas...11 staples to remove. therapy tomorrow am. hope you all had a good weekend.

Thanks Kelly. Hoping you're feeling better soon.
Jacque - how are you feeling.
Sindy - April 15 isn't that far away
    Miss V - miss you.

Looking back, yes, the Cub Scout years is a lot of work for Leaders. Seeing the boys having fun & proud of their accomplishments is very rewading.

I'm still involved with the Girl Scouts. The Girl Scout troop has 4 adult leaders so my leadership role there is minimal. This is the 2nd year of minimal role. Previously, I had a very heavy load since I had limited parent assistance. It's nice to go from "do it all" to "do one thing."

Right now I'm not involving myself with the Boy Scouts for several reasons. I will enter my car in their car show.

Last night we went out to dinner. After the soup & salad, I had no desire for my food.
    Weight was up this am...
My estimate is the lack of water. Wasn't drinking enough over the weekend.

    not a good monday here....
put call into surgeon 8am...pain meds makin me sick.....have only taken aspirin since 7:30 pm last night....and ice off and on. have my mom take me to therapy and they tell me my appt isn't for 2 more weeks 3/14....they call my regular dr *and* surgeon...nope it's in 2 wks. i say well, my first appt with surgeon is in 2 weeks...hmmm. then i ask if it is normal to be seen a few days after surgery for physical therapy...well, yes. now *they* are wondering....ok, see you in 2 wks. mom gets me a Subway, leaves me at home with some frosted brownies and cake for the guys...and me. i find my piece of paper that i wrote down message (from surgeon's office) on last fri about therapy. it says 2/28, 9:45. next thing i know is therapist is calling me and saying i was right...they had a fax come from my surgeon...start today. so, i'm not losing it. wants me to come this afternoon, won't work...thurs now. grrr. i eat four frosted brownies and a piece of cake. it's not helping the pain....which i'm still waiting to hear back about....noon now.

How dare the frosted brownies & cake enter the house! Banish them away... don't send them to my house either.

One of my coworkers brought in a bunch of candy. I see what looks like a single serving of chocolate covered cherries. Nope, one serving of 4 pcs is 200 calories. There's 3 servings in the package.

The former me would have eaten the entire bag & not thought much of it. Today, me isn't even going there once I read the calorie content.

And Kelly, no, you're not losing it! I swear you're not!.

On friday, primary doctor prescribed antidepressant & counseling. Been reading info on the drug. There's a lot of bad rap from users on one website. And this is from folks who spent 5-7 days in hospital psych wards. Ladies, yeah, I'm depressed on my lack of weight loss, my custody battle w/my ex, hubby's MS and what my oldest is doing... however, I'm not that depressed that I need to be hospitalized for.

I'll attempt counseling....just want some coping strategies for dealing with my big issues.

happy tuesday ladies....internet outage here. i just don't get that. seriously. i need to search flights and ds needs to do homework. expecting a credit on my bill.....pain off and on today. this sitting on the couch is getting old. wish i was better left handed. have not ate well either. brownies gone and cake just about. too many carbs and salt today.

i'm wondering which med you were prescribed barb. i have trialed prozac, paxil, celexa, wellbutrin xl, effexor,& lexapro. the wellbutrin sr has worked the best...3+ yrs now. when my dr initially doubled the dose, in late jan, i had no appetite. they do use it for wt loss and smoking cessation. it took me three mos (3 yrs ago) to find one that helped. i have a tendency to be overly sensitive to these types of meds...zombie like, put me to sleep. i know everyone responds differently, and i have friends that take a combination of meds. if i was guaranteed to never ever slip into that very dark hole again, i would not take my meds...but it has really saved me and when i miss a day, i can tell.

counseling will help... i sometimes wish i could visit my therapist on a regular basis b/c i liked her so much. she is the neatest person. they understand totally....know that we care barb and we are here for you. this too shall pass...you will come thru stronger...maybe not soon enough it might seem...be patient my friend and breathe......keep things simple.

    Morning Pepper's,
Sorry have been missing but lots going on in day job and have not had the chance to log anything. Did not step on scale Friday so will wait until this friday to weigh in. Not eating very good either. Have been sick again and just to make things a lot harder my hip keeps giving out. The same one I had torn all ligaments and had to have surgery to fix but I did not do well with recovery. I am going to give it time and hope it goes away. I have to start eating better to many desserts at night.

Kelly hope you are feeling better today
Jacque take care of that hand
Vita nice to hear from you we missed you
Barb all the side affects from some of those meds I agree I would rather go with out.

Well have lots of work to do today. No work tonight so to bed early for me :drinker: Will check back later :flowerforyou:

Kelly, I'll send you the name of the drug.

What hubby was telling me is the typical reviewer of a drug on a drug forum is going to give the drug a bad rap. Rarely do you find folks that will post on a forum how great the medication worked for them. He was seeing this occur with his MS drugs.

I will say the drug is making me nauseous & lack of interest in food. Now the later could be a good thing. So far this week I'm done a 1lb. (shh.... let's not get too excited on that!). From my research the nauesea passes after 1 week.

Monday I called the counseling service and left a voice mail regarding an appointment. So far no return call. I'm going to contact the Military Source One. This service is free for military folks - gives you 10-12 visits. I've used it for family counseling for the kids. Granted, you get what you pay for. I didn't particularly care for the counselor... so hoping I'll be given other counselor names to try.

As I shared w/my boss the possible need for me to take time off for counseling appts, he was surprised.

With my tickets purchased for Vegas, there's no looking back now.

evenin' team...did a lot of left-handed chores today...surprised at all the back muscles used even with one arm. ready for therapy tomorrow. oldest son away at college called and told me he has a concussion. he participated in inter-mural wrestling yesterday on campus and the kid he was wrestling and him lost their balance and ended up against a brick wall. ds left immediately and vomited on his way back to the dorm. said he showered and then slept 8pm >10am....he was able to go to classes today but still feels like he has jet lag. no head ache, and he has not taken anything. i told him to get checked out at the campus clinic...naahh. he said his pupils looked ok. he had a couple bad/ ER visit/ concussions in high school football....said this wasn't that bad. i told him 2 wks ago it 'was a sign' he was not to wrestle when he didn't have wrestling shoes and he thought he did, plus he was gonna have to lose like 11 lbs to make wt. KIDS. 21 yr old kid. so now i am freaking out bout my boy. hate it when he is ill and i can't take care of him...keep an eye on him. my god, he's going to south padre the 12th for spring break. do i dare even think about what might happen there? it isn't worth it. just go to your classes, keep working at the dome and donating plasma. simple. gonna call him again before i go to bed and again tomorrow.

    nite ladies.

Kelly, I agree - KIDS... sigh... hoping your son's concussion is just that mild. Tough, when they are away & we can't be there.

Miss V, Hoping you're feeling better soon.

I have two success stories for Wednesday.

    1. After my son's basketball game, hubby wanted me to buy him cigarettes. I go to the Wawa and see the doughnuts, cookies, candy, brownies, etc. My thought was I'm under calories if I eat something before I get to the car (son was in car), son will not know. Nope, just got the pack hubby wanted.

    2. Co-worker had candy conversation hearts in a jar on her desk. At end of day I scoop out about 7 pcs. Place a few in my mouth - YUCK. I threw the remaining candy in my hand away. Previously I would have eaten & not cared if tasted bad or not.

I did swallow my pride & adjusted my ticker to reflect the heaviest weight I've been (which was 2 weeks ago). As mentioned, this was not the first time I hit that weight post pregnancy. Now, I'm feeling better to see a loss on the ticker instead of a 0. That 0 was mocking me.

hey friends...i have not been taking my pain meds correctly. over the last few days, with new meds, i have averaged about 2-3 doses a day...which i'm learning painfully, is not helping me. i can take up to 2 tablets every 4-6hrs and have taking 1 about every 8-12hrs. just could not get comfortable in bed last nite....pain no matter what i did. been icing more today, and will take 2 tabs 1 hr prior to therapy, and more regular from then on. the pain i am having feels more nerve related than muscle. i sure hope there is no nerve damage, but i know it was a risk with the surgery.

have talked to ds twice now and he is feeling better. wondering if worrying about him turned my stress to increased pain. gosh, i need to get back to exercising to help with anxiety. i miss it and all the benefits it offers.

here lately in our small community, we have had many deaths/sad events. a few have been parents to former classmates. my dh's cousin wife committed suicide by jumping off an overpass onto an interstate. bizarre. a very popular guy/kid from the area, friends with my ds's has testicular cancer and they think it has spread to his lymph nodes. puts so many things in perspective for me and how very lucky and blessed i am with all that i have and the love and support from you all. life is a gift..make each day the best it can be.

trying to be better with eating today...but expecting a gain fri. push ahead gang....go after what you want. it's up to you

therapy went very well considering i was in pain. she had me lay almost flat..which is a first since surgery. she did all the movements, i just had to relax. i guess it will be like that for a few weeks. she said my rom is very good for 90 degrees. when i go next week she is gonna take out my staples, yay! again she told me my pain tolerance is high, which could be why i don't feel the need to medicate regularly. but, that's gonna change starting now. catching up is not fun.

have a good evening friends. let's hope we lose or maintain tomorrow!

Due to my son's misbehavior, I took his basketball game - so I went to kickboxing.. YEAH>

However, I didn't plan to go so to eat at least 1300 calories, I got a small shake from burger king after class. And 4oz of red wine.

I'm really liking kickboxing & would go daily if I could. Made some good meal choices.

I've tried hard this week. My fitness test isn't that far away...,,,,'

Noticed today a piece of my dental crown came off... so seems like I'll be calling the dentist in the morning...... ugh...

Good night all.... off to enjoy the wine.
