Ok so I was finding it hard to eat the set amount calories on the days that i worked. I am on my feet 10 hours a day for three days. Not only was eating hard but tryong to exercise on those days are harder. I stoped doing harder work outs and started walking my dog which was helping but i was still really hungry. So I got one of the watches that counts your carlorie and decied to try it out at work. After 2 hours and 28 mins I had burned 800 calories. My question is, is the watch accuate? I have always heared that if you are not walking or running or whatever for at least 30 mins than it is not helping you. At my work it is very stop and go. Although i am on my feet and always walking i might stop for a min and then continue. Should i count this as excercise?

Input your info as being active if you have not done so, in addition if you work 3 days then you can work out the days you are off to offset the lack of energy, eating slower digesting carbs will help with energy and hunger. I would also recommend introducing daily intake of almonds (6 or so) and peanuts and pumpkin seeds these are great natural appetite killers. Slow carbs are mainly the veggie family (broccoli and spinach are king) but beans (kidney, black, etc) are slow carbs. They keep you full longer and add protein to each meal, for serious metabolic boost I recommend 30g with breakfast and around 30 with each meal. The protein signals the brain to slow down the hunger impulse and you should find that helps a lot.

    Hi
I think heart rate monitors are only accurate at a certain heart rate.
So if your heart rate was high constantly for that period the calorie count might be accurate but as you said it was stop and start I suspect the number isn't accurate.

Have you put your work in as active into your settings?
If you do this, MFP takes this into account for you.

    Hope this helps.

just set your lifestyle to "lightly active" and don't count work, but exercise on your days off. that's what i would do. and eat a small serving of protein during breaks, after work, and after exercise.

When teh site figures out your caloric intake amount, one of the questions was about your daily regiular activity level. Did you answer this? For me I chose the 2nd activity level (salesman, nurse) I have a home daycare and do lots of up and down, walking, bending,... This is regualr daily activity for me. When i dance with the kids, play really active outdoor or indoor games, or do anything beyond the norm, I count it as exercise.
not sure if this helps you out or not. Also, you can find out what your body's natural rate is for burning without exercise as well. I found it on a website somewhere. I'll see if I can find it again for ya!!

How long have you been counting calories for? If its only a short time it can take a couple of weeks for your stomach to shrink. Stick with it and soon you'll feel more satisfied.

HRM are not meant to measure anything but cardio type exercise. They will not work to figure out calories for the day. You would probably be better using something like a Fit Bit, Body Media Fit, or Bodybugg. They are meant to give a record of daily activity and figure out calories based on that.
