Or I am about to throw my scale out the window--Ok I know you aren't supposed to weigh everyday but because i am so obsessed with my weight I do- So I lost weight and it was consistently the same weight over the past 2-3 days but now today when I wake up and weigh myself it says im back at the same weight that I was at when I started on MFP - which is the same weight that I have been at since Febuary regardless what I do-- I don't pig out I workout constantly I drink my water-- This is getting insane I haven't logged the weight that the scale said yesterday I am very discouraged because it doesn't make any sense-- So if it says it again tomorrow morning I will log it-- I am so frustrated whats the point of all my hard work if its not working-- Its not like my goal is unrealistic but I can't seem to shed this weight what is wrong all my blood work is fine already had it checked-- I have been going full force in high gear since Febuary (thats when I hit my plateau after losing a decent amount of weight) and I can't get it to budge it has gotten so frustrating that I find myself crying ( I am not emotional) after getting on the scale after a week of eating right and workingout really hard to find out nothing happened-- I have pulled my back twice because I am pushing myself so hard- I saw the doctor about it and he is stumped because I am doing everything right and yet its not happening-- my body is holding onto everything-- AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I swear it better be an error or I will take my frustration out on my scale with a hammer in the backyard I am not playing I so Pissed!!!! :explode:   :explode:

Read it, and step away from the scale. So many things beyond our control influence our weight. Stress, hormones, striking a balance between food intake and exercise, hormones, sodium, etc. . .

Regarding the scale question. I have a love-hate relationship with the scale and I need to know where I am and what's working for me. Sometimes it really helps to weigh myself every morning and it's just another daily reminder of who I am and what my values are. Then I will go into a period when I get really obsessed with the scale and I hop on it multiple times a day (every time I go to the bathroom) and honestly get nuts. Then I have to back off for a while and just weigh myself once a week at the same time.

I lost 115 pounds about 3 years ago and I can tell you that if you are being honest and really doing things right your body can't hold on to that weight for too long. Also you will probably have a big drop when it happens. My doctor thinks that there are just weights where our bodys are comfortable and we stay there for a while. Can you remember when you were on the way up was this a weight you stayed at for a while?

When you are on the plateau it's time however to make sure you're records are correct. Make sure to measure, weigh & log everything. Also keep fast food and eating out in check, even if you count it, it's hard to know that the portions are exact and they have too much sodium.

You're doing great, just keep your head down and push on through.

As far as being at this weight and holding it-- I was always fit I got lazy and packed on the weight after having kids-- I have lost a big chunk of it- but I am stuck at this number I know my body is capable of being at a lower weight-- I am most def being honest with everything-- My friends and family say that I am becoming very obsessed with this-- My husband tells me to slow down because I am litterally hurting myself to lose weight-- I don't drink anything but water I watch everything I eat- I workout and still nothing -- but thanks for the heads up and yes I too am very obsessed with the scale

I know how frustrating it can be - I must be the slowest "loser" in the world - it takes me 6 months to lose 6lbs! Just wondering: is there any chance you have dipped too low in your calorie intake? Perhaps between all your workouts and the limited number of calories you are eating, you have put your body into starvation mode? Just thought I'd throw that out there as a possibility.

One practical suggestion: try increasing your protein (chicken, fish, etc) and eliminating all "white" carbs - pretzels, bagels, pasta, cereal, etc. I'm not talking Atkins here - keep eating those fruits and veggies and any whole grains, and don't go overboard with the saturated fats (red meat, cheese, cream).

See if that helps. I know that my body responds quickest to that type of diet, although I just love my breads, so it's hard for me to do that in the long run, but maybe you'll find it to be the key to your success!

    Good luck!

I think various people have had discussions before about how many calories you're eating, are you eating your exercise calories, etc. I can't remember your answers though. have you tried upping your calories?

Or maybe just take a break for a bit and try maintenance then hit it again?

Your body might need a break and that might help.

Also, try not exercising for a few days and keep strict within your caloric limitations. Or maybe cut back on your exercise. I really think that we can just wear our bodies down to the point where it struggles to maintain, so maybe backing off a bit or like I said earlier, taking a break, might help??

Oh, and I weight everyday too! In fact, I weight morning, evening, and just before bed. It's helped me learn patterns to my eating, drinking (water), and fluid retention.

I am just like you and VERY hard on myself, but that has gotten me nowhere good. It's been very hard to keep myself off of the scale but for the once per week I promised myself, but I do it because I know any random fluctuations can wildly affect my mood and outlook on this process, and it is a process.
Remember that you are doing the best that you know how to do and that you've come this far. It's really all about perspective and avoiding the mental, negative traps of things like this that can be avoided. Use the willpower to avoid the scale that you've used in making all these difficult choices to succeed in this program. You can do it!
