We do well at the things we measure

Hi Folks,
I've been logging food intake and cardio workouts with MFP for the last few weeks and this is my first post. It is really nice to be able to use the site as an honest broker. It keeps me honest and lately I use it as a very motivaing scoreboard.
I list everything i eat and drink in the "Food" log. I program my exercise based on food intake and calories. I CRUSH the calories with cardio workouts daily. I don't really use the strength training logs. I either don't know how to program them correctly or the tool doesn't really record calorie burn. The score board concept is great and it motivates me to not skip workout days. It motivates me to choose healthy foods and limit portions so I can win the daily battle with prgrammed bad nutrition habits and apathy
When I do these things freelance I make modest gains if any. When I measure and hold myself accountable I win. My fitness level has taken off. I'm running 6 miles in 44 minutes. My watch, wedding ring, and shoes are all more comfortable. My knees have quit hurting.
We do well at the things we measure, we do well when we hold ourselves accountable. MFP helps do these things.
