Hey, I'm almost ready to start my last month of p90x. While the first month I did great and lost some inches the second month wasn't so great. My family and I had planned a trip to new York to see some family which also ment there was going to be plenty of yummy but not so healthy food to eat. I also came down with a cold where I wasn't able to exercise for a week. While looking for support to get myself going again, I'm also looking for any good ideas to substitute the pull ups in the p90x videos with something using free weights. I've used the resistance bands in the door, and they came out while using them leaving me with a red mark straight across my chest. So please give me some ideas. Also any other misc opinions about diet and exercise while using p90x would be always welcome. I haven't logged my food in a week or 2 so the most accurate of what I've been eating you will have to go back a few weeks. Thanks so much for your help

Well, since p90x's back workout is all based around pull ups, for good reason, and you want to not do them, there are only a handfull of exercises you can do. Those will be even more limited with your limited free weights. The best one would be a form of a bent over row. You can do it with one arm, or two. I generally prefer it with a barbell instead of a dumbbell but either will work. As far as diet goes with p90x, I would follow their diet plan that's included with p90x. Just make sure to get plenty of protein. By that I mean, at least 1g/lb. You may think that's a lot, but if you're doing p90x and you want to lose weight as well, by cutting calories, the best way would be to substitute your carb calories for protein.
