at a standstill

I guess we all get discouraged at times. Especially when the scale is at a standstill. I've been counting calories since Feb. 23rd and have lost 29 lbs, but this entire month have only lost 4 lbs. I know I could be exercising more and have had days where I have way too many calories, (i try to stick with 1200), but still I feel my progress should be better. I still have a long way to go and have lost weight much quicker other times I've dieted in my life. Oh well....a small loss is better than gaining I suppose.

Do you think it might been the hot weather? I know I hold more water in the heat. Maybe try and watch the salt intake
Keep it up you will catch up!

In your profile, you mentioned that you've tried every diet out there and always regained it back. That is what happens some times when we lose too fast. A good steady weight loss is best.

So, you're going great. Also, you have to remember that some of us (I'm including me here) are older now than when we lost weight before, and it will not be as easier. Our metabolism slows, etc.

You also admit that you need to exercise more and that at times you've gone over. Try to be more consistent--on days you don't exercise, make sure that you don't go over your limit.

And, anyway, you said you've lost a total of 29 lbs since Feb? That is over 7 pounds a month! That is fantastic! Why get frustrated at that level. You will lose faster at first--water weight is big part of initial loss.

Hang in there! You're losing, and I know you've got to be feeling better already, right?

I feel your pain. I have lost 42 since the beginning of the year, but in June I have only lost 2 lbs and NOTHING for the past 2.5 weeks. It's obvious that I have hit some sort of plateau. I knew it would happen sooner or later, but it really sucks to get on the scale every week and it stays exactly the same. ( mines digital, and I would take a loss of ounces at this point). In the meantime, I'll just keep plugging away.....right now I'm at my mother's in Ohio....so maybe the change of sceanery will help

my motivation trick is to take the number of weeks you've been at it total and divide your weight loss by that.

For example, if you lost 20 pounds in a month, and then nothing the next month, you've still lost: 2.5 pounds per week.

    Just a suggestion.:flowerforyou:

That is a good way to look at it! My take is I have NEVER lost this much weight in the past so I'm very happy! it's just that I was steadily losing at least 1 lb a week since starting this journey, and it bums me out not to see anything happening on the stupid scale.

Your doing good with 29 pounds since February!

Try not to go over on your calories and maybe change up your exercise. I know my body gets use to my routine and I quit losing..that may be what your body is doing.

    Good Luck :)
