I am new to this site and am already officially shocked to learn exactly just how many calories are in some of my favorite foods!! I must say I'm a little bit scared yet a little bit excited all at the same time to "restart" this journey (lost over 30 pounds in the past couple years) This is a new approach to me but I'm definitely looking forward to it and learning things from a different perspective. So I'm trying to stick to 1440 cals a day in order to reach my goal. Would love any ideas from you REAL people on different recipes to try that are healthy yet taste good all suggestions appreciated much!!! Thanks and good luck to all of you on your journeys!!

Chicken...my best friend and it is packed with protein which helps build lean muscle (which will help burn more calories). It's a win-win. Just make sure it's not fried or packed with too much crazy added ingredients. Welcome!

I know what you mean. A little shocking at first. That is when I start eating smaller portions, so I can still eat them. I have a ton of great recipes, however there are thousands in the recipe section. I really like the crock pot ones.
    Best of luck to you.

Using lean ground turkey in your recipes like chili in lasagna can lower calories.

And when you start looking at nutrition labels and ingredients - it's an even bigger shock!

Stick with the 1440 and make sure to eat back any exercise calories so you don't create too much of a deficit that it becomes unhealthy (too few calories can stall weight loss and even make you gain).

And be patient. You might see fast results and it might take a while. Get a measuring tape and focus on those numbers instead of the scale numbers and you'll do great.
I still eat ice cream (real ice cream) and I still eat pizza and candy bars and such. They're just a rare treat now instead of a daily stapele

I love fat free plain greek yogurt, with cinnamon and a tsp of almond extract, sweetened with either agave nectar or truvia! Yummy and tons of protein!

:flowerforyou: stay away from packaged, processed food and eat chicken, fish, and veggies (fresh or frozen).....use herb for seasoning rather than salt and sauces and dressings and you'll get a lot more food and nourishment for your calories.
