    I eat chick peas all the time. In curried dishes, curried alone, tossed in salads, as hummus, and plain as a snack or side dish. That chick pea cake sounds very interesting, I think I'll try it. Thanks for sharing.

    Before I started this I added chickpeas to chilli because I dont like kidney beans and used to have it with rice but i would probably just have lean mince now with chickpeas to fill it out. its nice with taco shells but im not clued up on what the fat content in them is etc xx

    I have made this recipe from Allrecipes.com. It is really pretty and tastes delicious.

    Chickpea Salad with Red Onion and Tomato

    * 19 ounces garbanzo beans, drained
    * 2 tablespoons red onion, chopped
    * 2 cloves garlic, minced
    * 1 tomato, chopped
    * 1/2 cup chopped parsley
    * 3 tablespoons olive oil

    Directions

    1. In a large bowl, combine the chickpeas, red onion, garlic, tomato, parsley, olive oil, lemon juice and salt and pepper to taste. Chill for 2 hours before serving. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve.
