Not only will I be turning 40 this year, but just two weeks before my birthday, I will be getting married and going on a cruise  . Since I have always been overweight, usually only by 50lbs or so, now I am way over that. I have recently joined a gym which I love going to and I go faithfully from Mondays to Fridays. I do weight training, Zumba classes and another cardio class during the week. Going to the gym right after work makes me feel great and I have someone with the same goals with me so that makes it a lot easier and way more fun, But my issues are when it comes to eating. I tend to make mainly good choices in the foods I eat but when it comes to potatoes, OH Boy!!!! Thats my down fall. But I know that that relationship will have to end for now and maybe down the line we can meet again. But in moderation and frequency. Until then, the cougar cub in me is starting to get her voice and I really need to listen to it. So, this is me and a little about myself. Will post some more later. Thanks.

  • Oooh a cruise!! And congrats :) My status yesterday said, "If I'm a lioness right now, does that mean I get to be a cougar when I'm older?" So, I will start taking tips from you!! Good luck...and potatoes aren't always as bad as you'd think.

Potatoes are not only not bad but are good in moderation...especially sweet potatoes...full of fiber. Just be aware of how your prepare them and portion control. Good luck!

As you go through the process, you'll learn that no food is off limits. If you have a particular problem with one food, you may not eat it for a little bit. As you get used to the healthy eating, you'll learn how to work it in to your normal diet.
  • Potatoes aren't bad, it;s the method of cooking them or what our putting on them that are bad. If they are a trigger food for you try to learn how to control how, when and how much you eat. try doing a weekly menu and add them, this way you know when you're having them and can look forward to it. Good luck on your upcoming marriage and your weight loss.
